Previous Events:

March 15, 2020 - .  St. Patty's Day road/gravel ride

This year we are doing something different for our St. Patty's Day ride. Starting and ending at South Beach Community Park (500 Old Florida Trail, Melbourne Beach). There will be a 50 mile road ride and a 39 mile off-road ride (MTN bike, Gravel Bike, Fat Tire Bike etc). If you wish to ride anything shorter for either ride type, we will have a couple options we can go over at the start, but you can turn around at most locations.

After the ride there will be free food catered from MeMaw's BBQ! This event is open to SCVS members and non-members. If you have not yet renewed your membership, or aren't a member yet, then you will be able to do so at the ride.

February 15, 2020 Valentines Ride

Bring your Valentine on a beautiful scenic rails-to-trails ride with us and then head over to Brix Project Playalinda Brewery for some great beer! What could be better?

This will be a 60 mile ride with a "holiday pace", which translates to 20 to 23 mph. You can always turn around at any point to shorten the ride. Bring a change of clothes if you want to join in on the lunch and refreshments after the ride.

Start location is Chain of Lakes Park, 2300 Truman Scarborough Way, Titusville.

November 28, 2019 Thanksgiving Ride

Nothing like a good steady club ride before a turkey and a nap.  We are doing the Wabasso Loop (55 miles) starting at 7:30am at the 5th Ave boardwalk. This will be a "holiday pace" which translates to a 20 to 22 mph average speed. There will be one stop at the convenience store after we cross over the Wabasso bridge .

If you want a shorter option, you could turn around at the Sebastian Inlet bridge and you will end up with just under 40 miles

November 10, 2019 Dirty Forks Gravel Grinder

Come check out some of the best gravel riding in Florida in the beautiful St. John's River three forks area. SCVS cycling club invites you to partake in our inaugural Dirty Forks Gravel Grinder! This ride will begin and end from the Three Forks Conservation area -Thomas O. Lawton Recreation access Area in Palm Bay, FL.

One of the special highlights of this property is its exquisite conservation area, which is a part of the St. John’s River Water Management District.

This area has helped to improve habitat for waterfowl, wading birds, river otters and shorebirds. The diversity of fish and wildlife provides a recreational resource for anglers, boaters and bird-watchers & alligators are seen year-round.

What type of bike would be best for this awesome ride?

We suggest any type of bike that one is comfortable on.....MTB, Gravel, Cxl, Fat tire —road bikes ONLY -if NOT less than a 28mm tire.

All 4 courses will provide an absolutely spectacular packed gravel ride -no roots -just simply beautiful gravel roads along the expansive sawgrass marsh lands with no motor vehicles on the entire course!

There will be SAG stops to keep you hydrated and fueled. Also there will be support on all courses in the event of any mechanical issues.

The SCVS board has worked very hard to come up with 4 courses that will appease any level of rider.

7.2mile is a great intro to the gravel area & a super family oriented kind of ride.

17.5 & 34 mile routes are a great way to spend a little more time out on these beautiful gravel roads.

51.5 gives the harder core type of rider a chance to push a little a little of the endurance side of things.

Club Ride Sunday April 7 on the East Central Regional Rails to Trails! ☀️

This is a fully paved asphalt bike path that extends from Titusville to Edgewater/Farmton that is free of the typical road hazards of cars/trucks, nails, potholes and glass, Although you will have to keep your eyes peeled for the occasional alligator or otter that can be seen in the wetland areas... The ride will feature an 80 and a 66 mile option. The pace will be holiday pace 18-22 mph, however we may break into groups for those choosing to go faster or slower.

There is a feed station ~ 17 miles into the ride where drinks and snacks are available (for donation only- so bring a few $$) and then again at the 33 mile point in Edgewater where there are also restrooms at a nice park.

We will meet at Sandpoint park in Titusville (101 N Washington Ave, Titusville, FL 32796) at 8 AM (restrooms available) and roll out to catch the trail ~ 1 mile from there.

Please invite other fellow cyclists that may be interested, This ride is open to SCVS members and non members.
